3. By the end of the course, the participant, given a patient scenario will be able to correctly identify the current stage of Duchenne the patient is experiencing.
4. By the end of the course, the participant will correctly identify 3 body systems affected by Duchenne.
5. By the end of the course, the participant, given a patient scenario which identifies the stage of the disease, will be able to correctly choose 2 appropriate treatment interventions.
6. By the end of the course, the participant will prescribe 3 appropriate exercises for individuals with Duchenne.
7. By the end of the course, the participant will correctly list 4 other healthcare professionals whose expertise is part of the standard of care for patients with Duchenne.

This course has not sought pre-approval for professions other than physical therapy. In research, we have noted that the content and expertise of this course satisfies the requirements for other professions and can be submitted individually by the licensee. The instructor is Jennifer Wallace Valdes, PT. Jennifer has experience in pediatrics and with an emphasis in the muscular dystrophy population since 2002. She has been invited to present current treatment topics and advances at Duchenne conferences, Academy of Pediatric PT Annual conference and has taught continuing education to healthcare professionals since 2009. She is the owner of Duchenne Therapy Network, a private PT business and Physical Therapy Director at CureDuchenne Cares, a non-profit patient outreach and education program. She continues to practice and provides evaluation, treatment and consultations for those with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy.

Yes, as required by state professional associations there is a final exam at the completion of the course. All participants will need to score 70% or greater in order to pass the exam. If answers are incorrect, participants will be able to review the course information and retake the exam until they have passed it.
